Perfect Pantry

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 16

Snoozed my alarm once, but got up before it went off again. I made myself decent and presentable, which was good, because I head the truck outside and my phone rang at 11 sharp. I gave the my room number and two men promptly, effortlessly, and efficiently delivered to me my two pieces of furniture.

I then spent the morning cleaning off my new pantry, which is perfect, but a bit scratched. I don't mind. I was right that it was just a bit dirty and some washing would do it well. I started piling my food into it and now it's filled, but still has lots of room. I suppose this means I must go buy more food!

The other shelving thing is a bit too narrow to store books. I took out one shelf and now have enough room, but I'll have to get something separate to hold my JET paperwork and binders. But the cupboards are now filled with my electonics, which have been cluttering up my floor (battery chargers, etc.) and I have moved my school supplies into the other one. So the second tatami room looks SO MUCH BETTER!

I did have my french toast. I have determined that peanut cream does not work on french toast like peanut butter.

I spent a long time doing all this and two loads of laundry. Folding and putting away laundry takes ages. I wish my mother were here.

Chatted with friends. Was a bit blunt with one and feel a bit bad.

Really, it's a boring day to report, as I cleaned and organized for hours.

Spent 3.5 hours in the evening on skype with my parents talking about Tokyo and catching up on their life back home, then stayed up much later talking with Olivia and Lonn. Collapsed.
